Not every college offers a degree in religious studies, and those that do may offer the program in their liberal arts department. While these degree programs may be sufficient for a career in religious studies, enrolling in a University of Theology can give you peace of mind since their primary focus is religious studies and religious education.

Many students who wish to pursue a career within the church enroll in a university of theology because they offer the exact degrees that they need in order to be qualified for the job they want.

Many would-be pastors, ministers, and priests must have at least a masters degree in divinity or religious studies prior to becoming qualified for their position, and a university of theology usually has that degree available. Sometimes, a university of theology will offer that degree program in an online format.

There are university of theology schools across the country, many of them in major cities. They all seem to cover the same degree programs, including certificate programs for those who are already in the church and choose to take additional college courses  to improve their skills.
